New bladders from TPU

Since September’2011 cuffs for blood pressure monitors LD will be completed with bladders LD made of new high-tech material – thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).
Its physical and mechanical properties of TPU bladder has many advantages as compared to the latex bladder and compared with bladders made of PVC.
In addition, the bladders of TPU have a high resistance to abrasion, resistant to oils, fats and active acids, resistant to bacteria, are extremely durable during piercing and tear and have smaller radii of curvature at the tubes.
Many leaders of the production of medical products have not only made its choice in favor of thermoplastic polyurethanes, but the patented trade name for its material TPU: Elastollan from BASF and Bayer from Desmopan.
Thermoplastic polyurethanes, which appeared in the world market in the early 60s of last century, have already gained strong recognition. Qualitatively, the TPU is a unique material combining only the best properties of rubber and plastics.
